Denture stabilization

What problem does it solve?	If you have lost most of your teeth an implant supported denture can be a great solution for you. The denture itself is attached to implants which are previously inserted into the jaw bone by the oral surgeon. Implant supported dentures can give you back the ability to chew like you would with your natural teeth and are known about their long-term durability.

Dental implants are not just useful in replacing single teeth. Dental implants can help replace an entire row of teeth, or to fix an existing denture. Dentures that have been stabilized in this manner will not move around, which means you do not need to use dental adhesives, and are thus capable of withstanding much higher occlusal forces than their regular counterparts.

Existing dentures can be stabilized using 2 to 4 dental implants, while new dentures can be stabilized using 4-6 dental implants. Our patients have told us that fixing dentures with dental implants makes wearing them more comfortable and contributes to a higher standard of living.

Process

Consultation: During the first appointment a panorama x-ray and a diagnosis will be made.
Implantation: The denture will be supported on 2 or 4 dental implants, which requires 2 or 4 dental implants. Healing time is 3-6 months.
Impression: We will take an impression of your teeth and send it to our dental technicians, who will make a denture with 6-10 work days. The denture will be tried several times into the mouth to ensure maximum comfort. The denture will connect to the implants via a click bar or via round dental implant abutments. The denture will be removable, but only if the patient wants to remove it.

Advantages

Traditional dentures cover all of the roof of the mouth, but implant reinforced dentures are smaller and horseshoe shaped, ensuring maximum comfort for the patient.
Because these dentures touch the mouth in less places, and because they cannot move around, they do not damage the gums.
Implant supported dentures do not need adhesives to bind them, and are thus more stable during eating and chewing. It is impossible to unintentionally move them.
The dental implants prevent the alveolus and the jawbone from deteriorating further.
